Soyinka called Nigerians morons and imbeciles..

Soyinka: I’m embarrassed to occupy the same nation space as some morons and imbeciles
Wole Soyinka, a Nigerian professor and Nobel Laureate, says he is embarrassed to be in the same country as “imbeciles and morons”.
Soyinka said this on Monday while analysing the reaction of Nigerians to his threat to tear his green card, after Donald Trump emerged the US president-elect.
While speaking at a media parley at Freedom Park, Soyinka said he was planning his own Wolexit, an adaptation of Brexit.
“Why do Nigerians wail louder than the bereaved?” he asked.
“I am embarrassed to occupy the same nation space as some imbeciles and morons. I am planning my Wolexit, which could be internal or external.
“On the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration, I will have a private funeral keep to mourn the death of Nigeria’s common sense. If the board agrees (because I do not like to be authoritarian) I will move the residency of my foundation out of the country. “

Prof we are embarrassed that you chose to meddle in American politics to the extent of voluntarily agreeing to tear your green card publicly if Americans choose their president.
We are embarrassed to share same country with an 80+ year old Nobel Laurette who campaigned for "change" but when change turned to "shame" fled his country at old age to live abroad and pontificate on who his gracious host nation should elect.
You were grossly guilty of "wailing more than the bereaved" when you left your job and interfered negatively with American politics when the market you sold at home is burning "morons and imbeciles" to death.
Prof you actually embarrassed the "morons and imbeciles" and should apologize to them.
Meanwhile you ain't going back to any America because you promised "morons and imbeciles" that you will tear your American green card and return home to enjoy change.
If you want to Wolexit please feel free to exit to Sambisa forest. In case you have forgotten, Prof, you also called those who supported ex-President Jonathan morons and claimed the ex-president was shielding the sponsors of the occupants of Sambisa? Since Jonathan is no longer president you may feel free to Wolexit to Sambisa as a non moronic imbecile.
“Spurred by electoral desperation, a bunch of self-seeking morons and sycophants chose to plumb the abyss of self-degradation and drag the nation down to their level. It took us to a hitherto unprecedented low in ethical degeneration.”-Prof Wole Soyinka in 2014
Prof, please retire home and keep some of your dignity. There is something psychologically wrong with your calling people names because of your self inflicted indiscretion. In fact it is moronic to call those who asked you to keep a promise you made voluntarily "morons and imbeciles".
Apologize to Nigerians, my dear Prof.

We will punish Tinubu over his role in Ondo governorship election. APC

Following the conclusion of the Ondo governorship election, indications have emerged that some members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, are calling for the suspension of a National Leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, over his role in the said election.
Recall that there were reports that Tinubu was against the emergence of the Ondo State Governor-elect, Rotimi Akeredolu.
The former Lagos State governor had faulted the primary election that produced Akeredolu as the party’s flag bearer in the November 26 governorship election.
Tinubu who frowned at the election, had demanded the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, John Oyegun for insisting that Akeredolu was the party’s candidate in the just concluded election.
The elder statesman’s disapproval of Akeredolu’s candidacy could be noticed when he was conspicuously absent in the party’s governorship campaign rally in Akure.

But Tinubu said he was out of the country during the governorship campaign rally.

However, those calling for Tinubu’s punishment through suspension insist such measures would send strong signals to others party members who are planning to work against the APC.
Tinubu was accused of supporting the candidature of Olusola Oke of the Alliance for Democracy, AD.

Against the backdrop of his defeat to Akeredolu, Oke, a former member of APC had defected to the AD to contest the Ondo governorship election.

However, an aide to the former Lagos State governor, Tunde Rahman, when contacted by us declined comment on the issue, saying, ”I wouldn’t like to talk much on this issue.”

Jonathan shuns 2016 thanksgiving service in Villa

Tongues were sent wagging on Sunday following the absence of former President Goodluck Jonathan as former Nigerian leaders who are Christians gathered at the Aso Villa Chapel located inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja for the end of the year thanksgiving.
The past leaders were invited by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo to join him and his wife to praise God for His goodness over the country.
Former Nigerian leaders who attended the service included a former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (retd.); former President Olusegun Obasanjo; former Head of the Interim National Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan; former Chief of General Staff, Gen. Oladipo Diya (retd.); former Vice-President Alex Ekwueme; and Rear Admiral Ebitu Ukiwe (retd.).
Osinbajo told newsmen shortly after the event that Jonathan was among those invited for the service. He, however, said Jonathan decided to cancel his attendance at the last minute.
Osinbajo said, “Today is a special thanksgiving for the end of the year and as you have seen, all the former Presidents and Vice-Presidents are here for the special thanksgiving service,
“They have been specially invited to come, we also expected President Jonathan but unfortunately, he had to cancel at the last moment.
“So, we are all extremely excited that we have been able to bring everyone together to thank God for our nation and to give Him thanks for the great future ahead of us.”
Earlier during the service, Gowon who said he was attending service at the chapel for the first time, confirmed that Osinbajo personally contacted him to attend the service.
The former military leader urged Christians to love every Nigerian in spite of their faith.
“Our neighbours are Christians, Muslims, traditional religions etcetera. Whatever we do, we make sure that we live up to the expectation of what Christ expects from us,’’ he said.
