NYSC attributes death of Kano corps member, Ifedolapo Oladepo, to untreated infection

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Tuesday attributed the death of a 2016 Batch ‘B’ (Stream I) corps member, Ifedolapo Oladepo, to an untreated renal sepsis infection.

Recall that Ifedolapo Oladepo, died at the NYSC orientation camp in Kano State last week Tuesday and was laid to rest on Thursday.

In view of this, the management had set up a high-powered committee to investigate the immediate and remote causes.
Investigations carried out by the panel of inquiry set up to look into the cause of her death, have now been disclosed.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, and Director General of the NYSC, Brig-General Suleiman Kazaure, presented the panel’s report in Abuja on Tuesday.

They debunked media reports that Ifedapo died due to negligence from the medical team in the camp, attributing Ifedolapo’s death to her refusal to disclose an ailment she had been battling with before resuming to camp.

The report stated: “From the doctors’ report, the corps member died of renal sepsis occasioned by infection.
“Even, to the untrained, kidney infections do not develop and degenerate to the level of mortality in three days (i.e 7th to 29th November, 2016).
“The deceased first appeared at the camp clinic with complaints of headache and fever, which she said she had been experiencing for two days.

“On examination, the doctors on duty noticed rashes on her legs, which she claimed started appearing as a result of her use of a second-hand knickers she bought without first washing it.

“Doctors noticed increase in the rashes on her legs, the deceased still dismissed it as a reaction to usage of a second-hand knicker.

“By this time, she had been vomiting. Therefore, she was admitted at the camp clinic and treated with Drazamol injection and Piriton to soothe her body pains as she was already on malaria drugs.

“After her case degenerated, she was immediately referred to Gwarzo General Hospital for further treatment, where, after examination, the doctor concluded that the deceased had kidney infection probably due to untreated urinary tract infection.

“The investigation showed that the deceased responded well until about 2:00am on 29th November when her condition worsened, and her body began to show noticeable signs of fluid retention.

“She was thereafter placed on oxygen as the doctors battled to stabilise her for the long journey to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.

“It is clear that the deceased had an ailment which she did not disclose.”

23-year-old Nigerian rejects Job Offer from Bill Gates.

A 23-year-old Nigerian entrepreneur, Chris Kwekowe turned down a job offer to work as a software engineer at Microsoft, owned by the richest man in the world, Bill Gates, in order to begin his own start-up in Lagos.

The Lagos State University computer science graduate proudly revealed this to Bill Gates during a television interview for Africa’s brightest young entrepreneurs in August 2016.
Kwekowe, who won the 2015 Anzisha Prize which came with a $25,000 cheque, said he rejected the offer to build up his own startup, Slatecube– a website aimed at helping other young Nigerians find jobs.


“When I told him, Gates was intrigued and he smiled. After the programme, all the directors were like, ‘Dude, you mean you actually turned down a job at Microsoft and had the guts to tell Bill Gates?’

Kwekowe founded Slatecube with his brother Emerald, 20, in October 2014. The pair funded their efforts by freelancing as web designers and running a software solutions firm.
He said Slatecube seeks to solve that problem by nurturing the graduates through digital internships and so far, Slatecube has an 80% employment rate for its users. Companies that have used the platform, have saved over $100,000 in 2015 by hiring skilled, ready to work employees.

In a Facebook post published last August, Chris narrated in details of his meeting with Bill Gates:

Jesus will return to destroy the earth this month – Computer programmer claims

A conspiracy theorist has claimed that Jesus will return to destroy the Earth this month.

Nora Roth, a Christian computer programmer, says she had performed complex calculations which suggested the apocalypse will occur by the end of 2016, DailyMail reports.

According to her, at that point, ‘everlasting righteousness will be brought in’, and Earth will be ‘left to rest’ for a millennium.

The claims have been made on Ms Roth’s website, MarkBeast, in a post called ‘2016 The Time of the End.’

According to Ms Roth writes, ‘In the fall [autumn] of 2016, the 6,000 years of sin on earth will come to an end, everlasting righteousness will be brought in, and Jesus will come again to take His people to heaven.’

‘Then the Earth will begin its 1,000 years of rest.’

Ms Roth believes that each person has a probation time on Earth.
